Kashmiris continue to suffer as lockdown enters 125th day

SRINAGAR, (DNA): The people particularly the residents of the Kashmir Valley continue to suffer immensely due to continued military lockdown, which entered 125th straight day, today.The imposition of restrictions under Section 144 in the territory and deployment massive deployment of Indian troops in every nook and corner of the occupied territory has created a sense of fear among the local people.The ban on internet, text messaging and prepaid mobile connections remains in force and the restoration of some means of communications, such as landline phones and postpaid mobile services, could not provide any respite to the people.

Spanish duo presents spell-binding performances

ISLAMABAD, DEC 07 (DNA) – The Spanish artists travelled all the way from Spain to perform in a music show Duo Cassado Piano and Cello connect, arranged by the Spanish embassy in Pakistan.Ambassador of Spain Manuel Duran in his opening remarks gave an introduction of the artists. He highlighted various aspects of life of the two celebrities who have excelled in their field within a short span of time.The concert marked the 41 years of the Spanish Constitution. He said the Constitution brought us back democracy and freedom.

GOVERNMENT HAS ANOTHER OPTION OF FILING A REVIEW PETITION IN THE APEX COURT.

The extension of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa generated a heated debate both at home and abroad after the apex court of Pakistan suddenly took up the case and within no time announced its verdict asking the government to do legislation and devise mechanism for the appointment of the army chief. While the court verdict tended to draw mixed reaction from all strata of society, it also led to writing of articles; opinions in the print media and talks shows on the electronic media – a thing that was considered a taboo in Pakistan. Social media went one step ahead.

Diversity of Pakistan’s culture and tradition celebrated in France

MARSEILLES, DEC 04 (DNA) – The cultural diversity and rich heritage of Pakistan was celebrated in Marseilles, the major port city in the South of France.The event organized by the Mayor of Marseilles-2 was attended by French officials and a large number of French public and expatriate Pakistanis who had come from different cities of France to participate and attend the event.Deputy Head of the Mission Amjad Aziz Qazi who was the chief guest thanked the Mayor, city officials and Pakistani community for organizing the event to showcase Pakistan’s rich culture, history and heritage. He said that these kinds of events help in bringing the French and Pakistan communities closer to each other.

Pakistanis’ hearts throb with Palestinian people, says minister

ISLAMABAD, DEC 4 (DNA)  Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar has said hearts of all Pakistanis throb with their Palestinian brothers and sisters adding Pakistan strongly condemns Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and persecution of innocent people.The minister expressed these views while speaking as chief guest on the occasion of Day of Solidarity with Palestinian people and 31st anniversary of declaration of Palestinian state.

Serena concludes Season 3 of Photography Competition

ISLAMABAD, DEC 4 (DNA) -The third season of Serena Hotels Photography Competition 2019concluded in Islamabad Serena Hotel. Almost 400submissions came from far flung areas of Pakistan with the theme this year being, People and Culture of Pakistan. Mr. Irfan Ali from Kurram District KPKand Mr. Dileep Parnar from Nagarparkarwere chosen as winner and runner-up respectively after a rigorous jury session with renowned photographers, Wajahat Malik and Syed Mehdi Bukhari, along with Serena Hotels management.
