Spanish ambassador hosts grand reception to celebrate national day

ISLAMABAD, OCT 13 (DNA) – Ambassador of Spain Carlos Morales hosted a grand reception to celebrate national day of Spain. Federal Commerce Minister Pervez Malik was the chief guest. The ambassador while speaking on the occasion said, politically, we have held three rounds of bilateral consultations at Foreign Secretary level in the last three years. The next one is scheduled for early next year in Islamabad. As a member of the EU we also actively participate and engage in the wide range of European Union-Pakistan dialogues, as the Joint Commission that has been taking place in Brussels this week.

Liquor recovered from North Korean diplomat residence

ISLAMABAD, OCT 07: As many as 1,000 bottles of imported liquor were recovered from the house of First Secretary of North Korean embassy during a raid conducted by police. According to a private TV channel, police raided the house when the diplomat was not at home and took in custody 1,000 bottles of liquor. Details further reveal, the diplomat had a licnece to keep liquor however the police sources say he was allegedly selling liquor to local dealers. Details further reveal police mentioned only 240 bottles in the report and tried to sell rest of the 760 bottles to liquor dealers in Islamabad.

Much has been written about various mafias like the Sicilian, Russian, 18thStreet Gang, Colombian Cartels, Chinese Triads and many more. Here in Pakistan a new mafia seems to have made inroads into our polity that may aptly be called “The Islo mafia”. This unscrupulous business mafia, mostly comprising businessmen, businesswomen, so-called media practitioners, real estate agents etc, is out to trap unwary diplomats. And then use their privileged positions for various purposes  acquiring visas being at the top of the list. This mafia adopts various innovative ways to trap their unsuspecting targets. Their normal modus operandi is to first invest in certain key individuals who can potentially deliver on their varied needs. These investments are made in different shapes.

Exhibition of Chinese traditional costumes opens at PNCA on Sunday

ISLAMABAD,SEPT 22 (DNA) -China Cultural Centre is organizing ‘‘Exhibition of Chinese Traditional Costumes’’ which will take place in the Exhibition Gallery of China Cultural Centre situated at PNCA (5th floor) on 24th September, 2017, at 4 pm. Ukraine independence day reception a largely attended event

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 21 (DNA) Ambassador of Ukraine Volodymyr Lakomov has said  Ukrainians have been completely formed in a single Ukrainian political nation adding therefore, now we are stronger than ever! Ukraine not only  survived, but really made a great step forward. Truly said the well-known philosopher: “What does not kill you makes you stronger”. He expressed these views while speaking on the occasion of a reception he hosted to celebrate 26th anniversary of independence of Ukraine. A large number of dignitaries from all walks of life attended the reception. American Ambassador David Hale especially attended the reception to show solidarity with Ukraine. All EU ambassadors too graced the occasion with the presence.

Public Diplomacy begins at Serena Hotels with Raabta

Pakistan indebted to Azerbaijan for humanitarian assistance: minister

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 10 (DNA) – Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development (CADD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Ch. has said Pakistan and Azerbaijan enjoy cordial relations that have grown with the each passing day. He said Pakistan was indebted to Azerbaijan for extending humanitarian assistance on various occasions. The minister also lauded the efforts of Heydar Aliyev Foundation and President of the Foundation Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva for carrying out various humanitarian projects in Pakistan.
